King Street Pre-School is a registered charity and, as such, is assisted by a committee of past and present parents and carers, also known as trustees.
The Committee meets once per term to discuss how to progress the Pre-School through fundraising, events, experiences for the children as well as issues such as finances and staffing. Being on the Committee is a fun, sociable way of sharing your ideas and relevant skills. It also allows you to be more practically and actively involved in your child's life! Meetings are held in the evening at the Pre-School, a local cafe or a member's home.
New Committee members are appointed at the AGM held in October each year but new members are welcomed at any time during the school year.
If you are interested in joining the Committee, please speak to a member of team. In line with safeguarding regulations, we will perform a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on any new committee member.
You can find lots more general information on being a committee member/trustee in this leaflet on Volunteering for your Pre-School Committee, produced by the Pre-School Learning Alliance, as well as in this Early Years Committee Handbook, produced by Cambridgeshire County Council.
If you have comments, concerns or suggestions regarding the Pre-School then please feel free to get in touch with us (in the strictest confidence of course).

My son loves the warm and friendly environment at King Street. He is learning so much and having a great time with his friends!”
My daughter had a great time on the trip to Jesus College gardens in December; she said it was the best day of her life!”
Thank you for all your hard work and individualised attention allowing our little girl to settle so well into Nursery. We noticed the change in her confidence levels almost immediately and she has loved being surrounded by a lovely new group of children her age and forming relationships with the dedicated and warm staff.”
Thank you for making my little girl’s first step into education so fun and easy. She is blossoming week by week! Just like her big sister she loves going to King Street. Trips to the park and zoo she especially enjoys! Her language and confidence is flourishing.”
We are sad to be leaving King Street. Our son loved coming every day. He made many friends and always spoke fondly of the teachers. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work, kindness and patience!”
